Ecker Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is a full-service mechanical contractor and sheet metal fabrication shop in Burton, Michigan.
We built our company serving local schools and hospitals as one of the areas primary mechanical and plumbing contractors. We provide construction services for industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. The combination of our design/build, design/assist, plan/spec, and services for plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, sheet metal, and electrical projects set us apart from other Michigan contractors.

Our Story
1937
Bob Ecker starts his plumbing career with Howard Craig Plumbing and works as a Journeyman Plumber with the Local 370 of Genesee County.
1966
Bob founds the Bob Ecker Plumbing & Heating, Inc after 30 years of experience in plumbing
After competing in both the Michigan and National Plumbing Apprentice Contests—where he placed first and fourth respectively—Bob’s son Floyd joins as the company’s first employee after completing his apprenticeship with Flint Plumbing & Heating.
1972
Floyd expands the company to Ecker Mechanical Contractors, Inc., expanding the company’s services.
1984
David Hendershot—Floyd’s son-in-law—joins Ecker Mechanical.
1990
Addition of the sheet metal division and fabrication shop.
1994
David becomes President of the company.
2005
David and his wife Julie purchase Ecker Mechanical.
2013
Addition of the electrical division.
