Estimator
Job Description
Ecker Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is looking for an Estimator to bid on mechanical projects. This role reports to and works in partnership with the Senior Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate mechanical projects from plan and specs or prospect narrative (To include plumbing, HVAC, and sheet metal)
- Work with other estimators and project managers in putting together estimates and pricing for the final bid/proposal
- Interpret bid documents to understand the scope of work, bid requirements and project schedule; manage bid pricing from suppliers and subcontractors; submit for bid documents as required
- Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, and/or availability of materials
- Attend job walkthroughs, pre-and post-bid meetings with clients and design professionals
- Develop and implement a successful Design/Build bidding strategy
- Seek out opportunities to build relationships with potential customers/construction manager division leads, helping identify immediate and long-term needs and developing a scope of work and quote
Pre-Construction Associate
Job Description
We are looking for a Pre-Construction Associate to be primarily responsible for providing accurate take-offs to Estimators and Project Managers. The Pre-Construction Associate will also be responsible for tracking and reporting on data for pre-construction analytics.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage project-based communication and project metrics
- Support Ecker project teams as required, including but not limited to: project BIM setup, HVAC system design, various drafting and modeling tasks
- Perform document controls for pre-construction and estimating projects to Ecker standards
- Review plans and specifications for projects to bid and review scope of work
- Provide accurate take-off as required for any bulletins, change requests, field orders, etc. on existing projects as requested by Project Managers or Estimators
- Prepare awarded projects for turnover to operations team
- Regular maintenance and ownership of contract tracking
- Coordinate across departments to maintain and ensure accurate data
- Support operations team with document markups as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Microsoft Excel experience required
- Experience with Bluebeam preferred
- Experience with Autodesk tools or other 3D CAD/BIM tools preferred
Driver
Job Description
We are looking for a responsible Delivery Driver to distribute products to customers and materials to field team members. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner, delivering orders safely and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
- Receive and put away stock orders, prepare shipments for delivery, support other warehouse projects
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
Qualifications
- Clean driving record and criminal history; valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in an environment where priorities can change rapidly
- Reliable and team-oriented
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly
- CDL a plus, but not required. If you do not have a CDL, we will assist you in obtaining one upon hire.
